The process I use creating this series is intuitive in nature. Each cut is freehand and takes on its own unique shape. Overall, I do go through the steps of selecting colors, auditioning each segment’s position in the design, determining my quilting patterns and creating the final shape of the finished piece. All of these pieces are made from my own hand dyed fabrics.
Most of this work is inspired by stories of climate change throughout the world.
Each of these images is photographed on black velvet. Follow the outline of the color to picture how each piece takes on its final shape.
