Get in Line... is my home, longarm quilting business.  All of my work is done as free motion... no patterns, pantographs or machine guided imagery is used.  I believe in portraying “the hand of the maker” in every quilt I stitch.   I wish to enhance your unique quilt with unique stitching designs. 

Many of my clients have had me quilt numerous quilts.  They know that I take the time to study their quilts and decide upon quilted imagery that enhances their creation.  Whether they consider themselves a craftsperson, a sewer, a quilt maker or an artist, they give me the freedom to stitch designs I feel will embellish their quilt top.

For this quilt, stitching lines was the best way I knew how to enhance the square in a square and rail motifs.  Sometimes, I believe that keeping things simple is the best answer.  The close-up reveals that I did not want to keep my lines exact and rigid.  By varying the line, I’ve complemented its folk art aesthetic.

This quilt demanded a funky and rhythmic design.  My design is influenced by the circular designs in the border fabric. The sweeping motion to the all-over design was essential in order to keep the quilts playfulness.  When I was stitching the border I thought of people with spiked mohawks standing in line for a concert.
